City officials announced today that Atlanta’s historic Fire Station No. 7, which opened in 1910 and closed in 2008 due to budget cuts, will be renovated and re-opened. Before it closed, this station in the West End neighborhood was the longest-running in the city. The historic photograph above, courtesy of the Atlanta History Center, shows the station as it appeared in 1912. Our screenshot from Google Maps reveals the condition of the station today.
